Senior AI Engineer

Role overview

Join Finom as a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade AI systems that solve real business problems. This is a hands-on role spanning the full lifecycle of AI product engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own AI systems end-to-end: problem framing, architecture, implementation, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous iteration.
• Design and operate AI solutions for high-impact areas such as onboarding, customer support, AI accounting, fraud detection, and internal automation.
• Integrate AI into real workflows by partnering with solution managers, domain teams, and engineers.
• Build meaningful evaluation and monitoring loops to measure quality and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with deep Python experience and a track record of shipping production systems.
• Experience with LLM applications, including some of: RAG, tool use, agents, prompt engineering, evals, structured outputs, guardrails, fine-tuning.
• Ability to move from prototype to production: shape solutions, measure quality, and improve over time.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and containerized deployments.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI systems in production.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into robust technical solutions.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI into backend or product workflows.
• Applied ML experience beyond LLMs (e.g., classification, anomaly detection, ranking, document intelligence).
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval/knowledge infrastructure.
• Experience with model benchmarking, experimentation frameworks, and cost/latency optimization.
• Fintech/financial services/risk/compliance or operations-heavy environment experience.
• Startup background, founder experience, or visible/open-source AI contributions.
