Role overview

(Senior) AI & Azure Operations Administrator (all genders) in the Innovation Hub at apoprojekt. You will help ensure the company’s Microsoft-, Cloud-, and AI platforms run securely, stably, and efficiently, while bringing new AI-related technologies into day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Build the AI administration together with Architecture, Development, Data Protection, and Infrastructure admins (e.g., license administration, MCP/agent integrations).
• Own the stable, secure, and cost-effective operation of the Azure cloud environment.
• Support developer teams by reviewing and optimizing Azure resources provisioned via CI/CD, focusing on:
  • Security
  • Networking
  • Backup & Restore, Disaster Recovery
  • Monitoring
  • Scaling
  • Cost optimization
• Design and manage cloud network and security topics, including:
  • Network segmentation
  • Gateways, Firewalls, WAF
  • Secure access concepts and permissions
  • Logging and protection of productive applications
• Establish operational standards for:
  • Monitoring & Alerting
  • Log management
  • Backup/Restore
  • Capacity planning and scaling
  • Maintenance and technical documentation
• Contribute to building operating models for AI solutions, including:
  • AI governance
  • Model boundaries
  • Tool approvals/freigaben
  • Token/cost management
  • Agent rights/permissions
  • Data protection and guardrails

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience in cloud administration, Azure operations, IT infrastructure, system operations, or a similar role.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure and key areas:
  • Virtual networks
  • Security, Firewalls
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Storage, Backup & Restore, Monitoring
  • Cost optimization
• Understanding of operational requirements for productive cloud solutions, including:
  • Scalability, high availability, recoverability
  • Security, logging
  • Maintainability and efficient resource usage
• Ability to advise development teams on Azure resources, evaluate existing configurations, and adapt solutions for secure and efficient operations.
• Interest in operationalizing AI topics into IT operations (governance, guardrails, data protection, and cost/token management).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with integrating AI platforms/agents (e.g., MCP/agent connections) and operational approaches for AI governance and guardrails.
