About the role

Role Overview

Sabel Systems is seeking a Senior Agile Coach to lead Agile practices for a customer team based in El Segundo, California. The role supports a team working on enterprise-level Agile digital transformation and culture change, with time spent primarily working from home during 8am–5pm Pacific, plus periodic on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead Agile ceremonies and establish Agile standards and best practices across Scrum/Kanban teams.
Configure and train others on Jira Scrum/Kanban boards, including:
- creating/managing Jira issues
- creating/closing Sprints
- setting up Jira Plans
- writing JQL filters
Establish and align enterprise ceremony cadence, including:
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Planning
- Retrospectives
- Sprint Reviews
- Backlog Refinements
Facilitate Agile workshops and Agile assessments to evaluate value delivery and team structure.
Lead enterprise-level events (e.g., planning offsites and training sessions) and mentor others to facilitate them.
Drive continuous improvement by gathering feedback, requirements, and priorities to improve efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
Coordinate with an Agile Transformation Architect to align scalable, enterprise-wide Agile processes with digital transformation.
Work with stakeholders and teams using collaborative work management tools (e.g., Jira) and communicate via MS Teams, chat, and email.

Requirements

Proven success executing multiple enterprise-wide Agile transformations.
Expert-level Agile methodologies and strong coaching/mentoring capability.
Strong project administration experience with Jira and Confluence (required).
Ability to work independently and train others on Agile practices and how to use Jira/Confluence to track work.
Comfortable with hands-on Jira work: configuring boards, creating issues, managing sprints/plans, and building JQL filters.
Ability to collaborate in person in El Segundo, CA up to 25% per year (average ~1 week/month).
Minimum Secret Clearance required prior to start.

Nice to Have

Prior military experience or experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
