About the role

Role: Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Remote (West Coast hours) Reports to: VP and CFO Compensation: $130k–$160k base + bonus

Overview

Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results, a strong control environment, and scalable accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement schedules
  • Oversee general ledger activity and ensure U.S. GAAP compliance
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for management
  • Lead, manage, and develop members of the accounting team
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and operational stakeholders to support initiatives
  • Support external audits, lender reporting requirements, and investor requests
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance scalability and efficiency
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
  • Support technical accounting matters (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, emerging issues)
  • Support M&A activities as needed (purchase accounting, integration, accounting due diligence)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); CPA preferred
  • 6–10+ years progressive accounting experience (mix of public and/or industry)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience leading month-end close and managing accounting processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel; ERP systems and reporting tools preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively across functions
