Senior Accounting Manager

Role Overview

You will lead a cohort of Senior Accountants or Accounting Managers (up to 8) as the primary people manager. The role focuses on coaching, performance management, career development, and ensuring the team is effectively deployed to meet client and business needs.

Responsibilities

People Leadership & Performance Management

• Directly manage a cohort of Senior Accountants or Accounting Managers (max 8)
• Run regular 1:1s to provide coaching, feedback, and support
• Conduct biannual performance reviews with actionable feedback and development plans
• Monitor individual and team performance and address concerns constructively
• Serve as an escalation point for performance issues, client concerns, and delivery challenges

Utilization & Staffing

• Monitor and manage team utilization
• Oversee staffing for Senior Accountant level and above to ensure proper resource allocation
• Partner with engagement leaders to balance workloads and optimize productivity

Career Development & Coaching

• Support promotion readiness and long-term career progression
• Define, track, and follow up on individual development goals and action plans
• Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth

Training & Development

• Identify skill gaps and coordinate technical and professional training
• Support training delivery to ensure team readiness and capability
• Promote knowledge sharing and ongoing development
• Participate in recruiting (interviewing and candidate evaluation) and help build a talent pipeline

Client Services

• Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs. actual analysis
• Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients
• Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and collections
