Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Teton Ridge is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage month-end and year-end close, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, and help produce accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will analyze financial trends and variances, support internal controls, and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations (under Accounting Manager guidance)
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
• Audit Management: Support the audit process
• Cost Management: Monitor and manage operational costs to optimize profitability
• Stakeholder Communication: Partner with sales, operations, and senior management to provide financial insights for strategic decisions
• Analysis & Reporting Quality: Identify trends, variances, and discrepancies; ensure adherence to accounting policies

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and its application to month-end/year-end close
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks and practical application in a lean environment
• Knowledge of accounting systems / ERP & general ledger software; openness to automation/AI to complement judgment
• Analytical skills to spot variances and issues in financial data
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate finance information across teams
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight and handling ambiguity

Nice-to-Haves

• CPA credential or working toward certification (or equivalent)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
