Senior Accountant

Role: Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant to join Teleport’s Finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and partnering across the business for month-end close and corporate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Use technology (including AI) to enhance and automate accounting processes as the company grows.
• Review and improve existing accounting systems and the broader tech stack to meet company goals.
• Perform core accounting activities:
  • Record, reconcile, and analyze General Ledger (G/L) transactions.
  • Prepare month-end close journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support flux analysis (e.g., accrued expenses, fixed assets, prepaids, deferred revenue, payroll, intercompany).
• Review customer contracts to ensure accurate billing and revenue treatment.
• Support Accounts Payable by reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices.
• Review compensation and commissions for accuracy.
• Cross-train with other accountants as backup.
• Assist with tax filings and audits, including responding to PBC (pre-brief/concurrent request) items.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects (documentation, development projects, system implementations, etc.).
• Build cross-functional relationships to increase Accounting’s impact and help achieve company goals.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar Senior Accountant role.
• Experience across:
  • G/L
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Tax
  • Payroll
• Experience with QuickBooks, Maxio, or other large ERP tools is a plus.
• Participation in systems implementation and transformation.
• Familiarity with financial statement audits.
• Strong analytical skills and clear written/oral communication.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership.

Nice-to-haves

• Process improvement and automation experience.
• Experience using AI tools to automate manual processes.
• Prior SaaS industry experience.
