About the role
Role Overview
Senior Accountant (Full-time, Remote) at Crossing Hurdles. Compensation: $110K–$150K/year. Commitment: 10–40 hrs/week.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end month-end close process, including preparing/posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounts are substantiated and documented
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce close cycle time and improve accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CA preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on general ledger (G/L) and month-end close
- Hands-on experience with an ERP/accounting system
- Strong skills in Google Sheets and Excel
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment
