Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Senior Accountant role supporting complex accounting operations for a fully remote finance team. You will manage month-end close and reporting, including cross-border transactions and Canadian accounting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with timely and accurate completion
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments
• Perform and document account reconciliations (bank and balance sheet accounts) and resolve variances
• Analyze financial statements and prepare internal financial/management reporting
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and foreign currency / CAD transactions, including exchange rate adjustments
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting policies
• Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, including senior accounting experience
• Strong general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close knowledge
• Experience with Canadian accounting practices and CAD-related financial reporting
• Understanding of foreign currency accounting and intercompany accounting (multinational operations desirable)
• Familiarity with IFRS and/or Canadian accounting standards (preferred)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with an ERP/enterprise accounting system
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fully remote setting

• Experience with multinational accounting operations and cross-border reporting

Contract & Work Setup

• Fully remote within the United States
• Full-time 10-month contract with immediate start opportunity

Compensation

• $38.94–$45.67 USD/hour depending on experience and qualifications
