Senior Accountant

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will support Function Health’s growing Finance and Accounting team by ensuring accurate, timely, and scalable accounting operations in a fast-growing, multi-product health technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own key areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations, resolving reconciling items and variances in a timely manner.
• Analyze financial results and explain balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.
• Own accounting for key areas such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany, other assets and liabilities, cost of sales, and other assigned areas.
• Prepare/review bank reconciliations, monitor cash activity, and support cash application and related accounting entries.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable financial reporting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Provide support on tax matters (federal/state workpapers, responding to tax notices, tax calendars, and helping with tax provisions).
• Assist with acquisition-related financials integration and other ad hoc finance projects.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including public accounting and/or start-up experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
