About the role
Role Overview
Senior Accountant (must be available for Eastern Time Zone business hours) responsible for owning key parts of the monthly close and supporting audits, tax compliance, and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the monthly close process, including:
- Preparing journal entries
- Performing account reconciliations and preparing workpapers
- Own key accounting focus areas, including:
- Investments and Treasury
- Stock-based compensation
- COGS and employee related accruals
- Inventory
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close
- Use the ERP system effectively and continuously improve accounting processes
- Perform fluctuation and variance analysis and provide clear explanations to support accurate monthly financial results
- Partner with internal teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data used for accounting
- Assist with annual audits and prepare tax compliance data
- Document internal controls and current processes to ensure repeatability
- Drive automation and process improvement within the accounting team
- Support strategic initiatives, projects, and ad hoc accounting needs as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation (or actively working toward CPA) strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience in an accounting function; prior public accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
Nice to Have
- Big 4 experience in audit or tax and/or industry experience strongly preferred
- Enterprise software experience (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Workday)
