Senior Accountant

Role Overview

As a Senior Accountant at Brale, you’ll bring accounting in-house by building the foundation Finance needs to scale. This is a build role: you’ll own day-to-day financial operations, create processes, and ensure smooth transition from external accountants.

Responsibilities

• Daily cash & banking management: code transactions, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate, up-to-date cash visibility.
• Accounts receivable (A/R) & billing: manage enterprise invoicing and billing, including setting up new customer subscriptions, maintaining billing records, tracking payment status, and resolving billing exceptions/failed payments.
• Accounts payable (A/P): coordinate vendor onboarding inputs, process received invoices, review coding/approvals, manage payment schedules, and maintain vendor records.
• Month-end close: perform reconciliations, prepare workpapers and supporting schedules, and support financial reporting, audit, and compliance needs.
• Ownership of the accounting transition: partner with external accountants during knowledge transfer, document processes, and bring recurring activities in-house.

What Success Looks Like (Year 1)

• Daily cash activity is reviewed, coded, and reconciled without lag, with real-time leadership visibility.
• Invoicing runs smoothly with faster follow-up on missing payments and fewer collection delays.
• Transactional accounting previously handled externally is fully owned internally with documented processes.
• Finance leadership can focus more on forecasting and strategy instead of transactional work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close.
• Strong command of A/R, A/P, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with Stripe or another subscription billing platform.
• Comfort working in an ERP/accounting system and accurately coding transactions.
• Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset.
