Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Senior Accountant (Contract) — Fully remote. Contract is full-time (40 hours/week) for 4+ months+ with a target start date of August 10. The role supports complex accounting areas including stock compensation, derivatives, and debt accounting, along with financial reporting and audit-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting for stock-based compensation transactions
• Perform accounting and analysis for derivatives and debt instruments
• Prepare supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close workpapers
• Conduct technical accounting research and apply U.S. GAAP
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support external audit requests and documentation
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• Active CPA required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field)
• 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting
• Hands-on experience with stock compensation, derivatives, and debt accounting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience preparing detailed accounting workpapers
• Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
