About the role
Role: Security Engineer
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of VolCorp’s Information Security program, helping to design, plan, implement, and support security solutions across the enterprise (networks, servers, communications, workstations, and cloud).
Responsibilities
- Provide internal security consultation for planning, implementing, and hardening endpoints.
- Partner with Security and IT teams to deploy, configure, and maintain network security technologies, including:
- Firewalls
- Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)
- IDS/IPS
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
- SIEM/SOAR platforms
- Virtual Security Operations Center (vSOC)
- Monitor networks and systems for security threats; establish procedures to identify and isolate threats and reduce attack surface.
- Support security breach investigations, including documentation, damage assessment, root-cause analysis, breach notification support, and forensic chain of custody.
- Assist with penetration testing and documentation of test alerts; collaborate with Security, IT Operations, and Software Development to close security gaps.
- Help design, plan, and implement security systems for networks and applications.
Collaboration
Works closely with Information Technology, Software Development, Risk Management, Security, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams to ensure security design, monitoring/response, and vulnerability management align with the organization’s risk appetite.
