About the role

Security Engineer (Remote-first)

Join Figma’s security team to help improve the security posture of Figma’s products, platform, and IT systems.

What you’ll do

Conduct technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews across products, platforms, and infrastructure
Drive systemic security improvements and risk mitigation strategies
Design and implement security solutions for AI infrastructure, tooling, data pipelines, and debugging workflows
Support incident response and vulnerability management processes
Advocate for security best practices across AI, platform, and product teams
Perform offensive security activities such as penetration testing and security exercises
Develop and enhance security tooling to detect and respond to infrastructure and product threats
Review and assess risks for cloud and corporate infrastructure changes
Collaborate with product teams to identify and mitigate abuse vectors (spam/fraud) and build detection signals/systems
Help continuously improve security policies, standards, and practices

What you bring

5+ years experience in Security Engineering or Software Engineering roles (security experience preferred)
Strong security judgment in threat modeling, risk assessment, and prioritization
Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language
Knowledge of security best practices: secure coding, infrastructure security, and incident response
Experience with security assessments, code audits, and design reviews
Ability to develop/implement technical security solutions and tooling
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to have

Familiarity with cloud security, application security, data governance, and IAM
Experience working across specialized security teams such as AI Security, Platform Security, Product Security, and Anti-Abuse
