Security Engineer

Role Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Fully Remote Security Engineer for a client engagement. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions, with a strong emphasis on cloud security, troubleshooting, and escalation support.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cloud resources; identify underutilized or overprovisioned resources and implement cost-saving strategies (e.g., scaling and automation).
• Build automation scripts and use Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates to automate repetitive tasks and streamline deployments.
• Implement and manage security controls using services such as Azure Security Center and Defender for Cloud (and related Azure security tooling).
• Configure and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Azure Active Directory (AD) access controls aligned with the principle of least privilege.
• Strengthen data security through encryption and access controls; adhere to compliance requirements such as GDPR and HIPAA.
• Develop and execute incident response plans to promptly address breaches and minimize impact.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across Azure services, cloud-deployed applications, and infrastructure.
• Provide support to internal and external users, guiding troubleshooting steps and escalating complex issues.

Requirements (Must Haves)

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with security frameworks such as PCI, NIST 800-53, and ISO27002/1.
• Network and security administration training.
• Microsoft cloud/security engineering certifications such as: SC-200, AZ-900, AZ-104, SC-100, Security+, Network+, OSCP.

Contract Details

• 9-month contract to hire
• Schedule: M–F, 8am–5pm
• Fully remote (client location mentioned: Burlington, VT)
