About the role

Role Overview

Security Engineer I at Jamf. You will administer security platforms and build automation to improve security operations, incident response, and detection capabilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer and maintain security platforms, including:
    • SIEM, SOAR
    • Cloud security posture management
    • Identity and Access Management
    • Endpoint/productivity suite security
    • Cloud compute/security services
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Design and develop security automation workflows using SOAR and Python to reduce manual work and improve incident response times.
  • Maintain security infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation, applying configuration management practices for security tools and cloud controls.
  • Support Detection & Response efforts: assist with incident response and produce reports on security tool performance and automation effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and maintain clear documentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in information security, IT operations, or a related role, with experience administering security tools or delivering security automation projects (required).
  • Working knowledge of one or more of:
    • Cloud platforms, identity management
    • Endpoint security
    • Security concepts such as DLP, SIEM, vulnerability management, and SOAR (required).
  • Basic Python scripting proficiency (required).
  • Experience with one or more cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP (required).
  • Experience with development tooling such as GitHub and Terraform for CI/CD (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, ability to write clean/maintainable code, and effective communication (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree / 4-year degree (preferred).
  • Security certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, cloud security) (preferred).

Security & Compliance Requirements

  • Participate in ongoing security training.
  • Follow established security/privacy protocols and handle sensitive data responsibly, including understanding privacy regulations and breach reporting.
  • Comply with the Jamf Code of Conduct and related security/privacy policies.

Location / Work Arrangement

  • Remote is available for candidates in the Minneapolis, MN and Eau Claire, WI metro areas.
  • Periodic work from a Jamf office or collaborative location may be required for events.
  • Applications are accepted only for candidates based in these locations.
