Security Engineer

Role Overview

Security Engineer at Figma (remote-first). You will identify and drive security improvement projects across Figma’s product, platform, and IT systems, partnering with teams across the company.

Figma is hiring across multiple security engineering teams:

• AI Security
• Platform Security
• Product Security
• Anti-Abuse

Responsibilities

• Deliver systemic security improvements and reduce risk across product, platform, and infrastructure.
• Perform operational security activities including:
  • Security reviews
  • Vulnerability triage
  • Security incident response
• Across teams, work on initiatives such as:
  • AI Security: security assessments, code audits, design reviews for AI infrastructure; secure AI models/tooling/data pipelines; security tooling; penetration testing/offensive exercises.
  • Platform Security: assessments/audits for cloud and corporate infrastructure; design solutions to mitigate cloud/corporate risks; build detection/response tooling.
  • Product Security: assess/audit/design review new product features; mitigate product vulnerabilities; support bug bounty; respond to product security incidents.
  • Anti-Abuse: build systems to prevent spam/fraud/abuse; identify abuse vectors; develop/improve detection signals; respond to abuse incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience in Security Engineering or Software Engineering (security experience preferred).
• Strong security/threat modeling and risk prioritization and/or technical judgment designing/building maintainable, scalable systems.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Subject matter expertise in areas like Application Security, Cloud Security, Corporate Security, Data Access Governance, and/or IAM.
• Experience making difficult prioritization decisions for security controls.

Employment / Location

• Full-time; can be held from a US hub or remotely within the United States.
