Security Engineer

Role Overview

Security Engineer for a remote 3-month contract (with potential extensions) to help strengthen and mature a SaaS company’s cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, assess, and improve the security of cloud infrastructure, applications, and enterprise systems
• Support vulnerability management and incident response
• Perform security operations and implement security best practices
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation
• Investigate security incidents and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and documentation
• Secure cloud environments and support patch management while balancing business impact

Required Skills

• 5+ years in information security/cybersecurity (or related)
• Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Strong network security fundamentals: firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and antivirus
• Ability to identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities
• Cloud security experience with AWS and Azure
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation with awareness of business impact
• Incident investigation and implementation of corrective actions
• Solid understanding of encryption, authentication, authorization, and security best practices

Bonus / Nice-to-Haves

• Compliance experience: SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001
• Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH (or similar)

Contract Details

• Pay rate: $65.00–$75.00/hour
• Term: 3-month contract, potential extensions
