Security Engineer

Role Overview

Constellation Search Group is seeking a Security Engineer for a full-time remote role. You will help fortify the security of systems, networks, and data by implementing security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls across systems, applications, and networks
• Monitor security alerts and investigate potential incidents
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts
• Assist with incident response and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security best practices
• Support configuration/management of security tools including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
• Maintain and enforce security policies and procedures
• Document security processes and findings
• Assist with compliance efforts (e.g., NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in information security or IT Security roles
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and working in regulated environments
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls
• Experience with common security tools and technologies
• Basic understanding of cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Understanding of security frameworks: NIST, CIS, OWASP

Nice-to-Haves

• Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, or similar)
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices
• Familiarity with IAM (e.g., MFA) and identity/access management
