About the role

Role overview

Brooksource is seeking a Cybersecurity AI Engineer to help secure and scale AI across the enterprise. You will work at the intersection of engineering and cybersecurity—bridging security standards with real-world implementation for AI tools (including copilots, models, and emerging platforms).

Responsibilities

  • Perform threat modeling and risk analysis for AI systems, tools, and emerging technologies
  • Evaluate new AI tools and platforms for security risk and enterprise fit
  • Translate security requirements into practical engineering guidance and technical controls
  • Define and document standards for AI usage, governance, and implementation
  • Partner with engineering and security teams to implement controls across AI solutions
  • Drive automation initiatives such as policy-as-code and AI-driven risk scoring
  • Provide guidance for secure usage of Microsoft Copilot and related AI services
  • Support both ongoing operations and long-term modernization
  • Collaborate across teams to bring structure and consistency to fragmented AI efforts
  • Help execute secure adoption strategies for enterprise AI capabilities

Required qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity engineering (not purely policy/GRC)
  • Strong background in threat modeling and risk assessment
  • Experience with cloud environments and modern engineering stacks (Microsoft ecosystem preferred)
  • Exposure to AI/ML or generative AI and the ability to understand related security risks
  • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into structured solutions and scalable standards
  • Experience producing technical documentation, implementation guidance, or security standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft AI ecosystem (Copilot, Azure AI)
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code, automation frameworks, or infrastructure-as-code concepts
  • Experience with AI governance initiatives / enterprise AI rollout strategies
  • Track record building/scaling security standards in large organizations
  • Knowledge of secure AI adoption frameworks and emerging AI security best practices

Contract details

  • 6–12 month contract-to-hire (W2)
  • Remote (United States)
  • Pay range: $60–70+/hour depending on experience
