Security Engineer (all genders)

Role overview

As a Security Engineer, you help bring security in early and actively contribute to building sustainable security solutions. Your work focuses on analyzing systems and applications, assessing risks, and driving concrete security improvements—rather than primarily running IT operations, infrastructure monitoring, or SOC tasks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze systems and applications to identify security risks and derive actionable improvement measures
• Conduct security assessments and security testing for:
  • Applications
  • APIs
  • Cloud environments
  • Other technical systems
• Design and develop security solutions together with engineers and stakeholders; evaluate technical approaches
• Support security improvements from analysis and conception through implementation in real systems
• Verify the effectiveness of security measures and continuously improve existing solutions

Requirements

• 2–4 years of practical experience in IT security or software development, working on real systems
• Understanding of how modern systems are built (e.g., APIs, cloud)
• Analytical, solution-oriented mindset; strong technical discussion skills
• German and English proficiency (C1+) for clear communication in the team and with partners
• Motivation to integrate security into applications and systems, not just operate or monitor it

Working model / location

• Augsburg; office or hybrid work supported with flexible working time models

Compensation

• €58,000–€70,000 gross per year (based on qualification and experience, within the company salary framework)
