About the role
Role Overview
Security Engineer (Cloud & Endpoint Security) for Airlock. You will deploy and manage an allowlisting/reverse proxy solution, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate with existing infrastructure, and help strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
Responsibilities
- Airlock Deployment & Configuration: Lead deployment and configuration of Airlock to ensure seamless integration with current systems and networks.
- Policy Development: Define and implement allowlisting policies to improve application security, access control, and threat detection.
- Incident Response Collaboration: Partner with incident response to optimize alerting and logging for faster detection and remediation.
- Security Strategy & Best Practices: Support cybersecurity strategy alignment with frameworks such as NIST, MITRE, and ISO 27001.
- Automation & Reporting: Identify opportunities to automate configurations and streamline reporting for better visibility.
- Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor solution performance and review security logs to identify threats/anomalies and apply proactive controls.
- Research & Continuous Improvement: Stay current on emerging threats and update Airlock configurations accordingly.
- Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain thorough documentation, including incident response plans and secure access protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in cybersecurity/IT or related roles.
- 1+ year hands-on experience deploying or managing application allowlisting or reverse proxy solutions.
- 1+ year experience with security frameworks (NIST, MITRE, ISO 27001).
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux and command-line configuration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Airlock or similar allowlisting tools.
- Scripting/automation: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CCSP, GIAC).
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
Contract Details
- Temp-to-hire W2 contract (no C2C/sponsorships).
- Estimated term: 2/10/2025 to 12/31/2025.
- Pay rate: $50/hr – $85/hr.
- Prefer local candidates in Columbus, OH; remote considered if necessary.
