Role overview
Security Engineer 2 – Cyber Security is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing security solutions for both in-house and cloud-based information systems. You will help strengthen the bank’s security posture by evaluating and delivering enterprise security architectures and by providing expert guidance to security leadership.
Responsibilities
- Architect, engineer, and deploy advanced security solutions across the enterprise; provide expert guidance and reporting to IT security leadership.
- Develop and implement security designs/solutions and contribute to security engineering initiatives.
- Act as an escalation point for security alerts, events, and logs; escalate findings appropriately.
- Design, implement, and optimize technical controls to mitigate vulnerabilities (using existing and emerging security technologies).
- Recommend and test system hardening standards for network-attached platforms and applications, ensuring compliance via structured assessments and reporting.
- Own lifecycle management of security platforms and infrastructure (configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and update deployment).
- Contribute to enterprise security policies, standards, and procedures; enforce them in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Produce advanced technical and executive-level reports covering assessment outcomes, risks, security posture, and remediation strategies.
- Lead tuning and configuration optimization for critical security platforms, including:
- Firewalls
- IPS/IDS
- Host-based firewalls
- Application control technologies
- SIEM platforms
- Deliver ongoing reporting and analysis on security posture, threat trends, and control effectiveness.
- Perform advanced monitoring, vulnerability analysis, and tracking: validate severity, prioritize risk, and guide remediation planning with Threat Intelligence and IT teams.
- Track and report patch and configuration compliance, identify gaps, and work with Threat Intelligence and system owners to drive remediation and continuous improvement.
Requirements / other notes
- Banking is highly regulated: maintain proficiency in bank policies and procedures and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Complete required compliance training on time.
- Strong ability to analyze technical procedures and regulations and to produce written reports and professional correspondence.
Remote work
- 100% remote within the bank’s footprint; work full-time remotely with only occasional in-person meetings as needed.
