Security Architecture Lead

Role Overview

Join Replit as a Security Architecture Lead and become the primary technical authority for the company’s security blueprint. You’ll steer architectural direction for a team of security architects and engineers, ensuring the platform is resilient and secure by design.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Act as the lead technical voice for security architecture: define long-term vision and ensure consistency across infrastructure and product initiatives.
• Provide high-level guidance and mentorship to security engineers; foster a culture of rigorous security design.
• Lead cross-functional squads through security implementations from initial design to production deployment.
• Maintain the authoritative “Source of Truth” for Replit’s secure architecture.
• Identify, document, and communicate architectural security risks; maintain a track record of contributing to the Cybersecurity Risk Register.
• Oversee complex security implementation efforts and provide deep technical subject-matter expertise.

Profile / Requirements

• 8+ years in security engineering or security architecture.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native security architecture for multi-tenant SaaS products (with GCP experience as a significant plus).
• Strong understanding of isolation technologies and DDoS mitigation.
• Experience writing and maintaining architecture documents.
• Proven Technical Lead experience steering large-scale projects and guiding other senior engineers.
• Ability to communicate technical risk effectively to both engineering and executive audiences.
• Experience designing secure boot, hardware/Cloud-KMS-rooted trust, and multi-layered defense systems.
• Demonstrated technical influence through collaboration and alignment across the organization.
• Strong systems thinking, autonomy, and a problem-solving mindset for complex security challenges.
