SEC Reporting Manager

Role Overview

As a SEC Reporting Manager at Plaid, you will own accurate and timely SEC and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, provide technical accounting guidance, and support SEC reporting readiness. You’ll partner cross-functionally to implement scalable processes and serve as a key contact for external auditors.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable SEC requirements, including S-1, 10-Q, and 10-K filings.
• Lead close-to-reporting processes, ensuring:
  • statements and supporting schedules reconcile to source records
  • variances are understood and documented
  • reporting processes are accurate and repeatable
• Coordinate with external auditors by managing audit requests, preparing supporting documentation, and helping ensure efficient completion of audit procedures.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and research/resolve complex technical accounting issues.
• Drive process improvements, systems implementations, and scaling of accounting/reporting operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years accounting experience, including:
  • 2+ years at a Big 4 audit firm
  • progressive experience in SEC reporting at a public company
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a growth mindset.
• Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills; manage competing priorities.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality/accuracy.

Nice to Have

• NetSuite experience
• Experience supporting an S-1 filing and transition to public company reporting
• Familiarity with public readiness or S-1 preparation
• Track record of driving thoughtful improvements using AI
