Role Overview

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for automated testing across client services. 100% remote (may require flexibility to work EST or CST). This is a 12-month contract (possible extension/conversion to full-time).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for client services
• Create test scenarios and ensure coverage of functional use cases
• Collaborate cross-functionally to triage bugs and investigate issues across environments
• Monitor and maintain CI/CD test pipelines
• Analyze logs and use observability to debug test failures
• Clearly communicate defects and proactively drive issue resolution
• Use AI tools to improve development workflows and delivery speed

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with test runners such as Mocha
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar UI automation frameworks)
• Experience testing MQTT or Pub/Sub interfaces (e.g., WebSockets, SSE)
• Experience testing GraphQL APIs, including complex query validation
• Familiarity with cloud environments and containerization (Docker)
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Strong debugging skills, including log analysis across distributed systems
• Experience with Jira (or similar tracking tools)
• Exposure to Android test automation (e.g., Appium)

• Experience with observability/monitoring tools
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows
