Role Overview

Senior-level QA / SDET (Automation-Focused) supporting an insurance organization’s enterprise portal. You will stabilize and expand automated testing for a UI portal and backend services following recent team restructuring.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary QA support for an enterprise portal platform.
• Execute and maintain UI automation using Cypress.
• Perform API testing for multiple backend services using Postman and code-based automation frameworks.
• Expand automated API tests using Cucumber and BDD-style frameworks.
• Conduct manual release testing and perform QA triage (approximately 40% of the role).
• Investigate issues from incidents escalated by call centers; validate defects and partner with developers to resolve code-level problems.
• Write and maintain clear, comprehensive test cases and test documentation.
• Run SQL Server queries to validate test data and scenarios.
• Work within existing Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines to execute automated tests (no pipeline building/modification).

Requirements

• Senior-level QA experience with the ability to independently own QA responsibilities.
• TypeScript experience (required).
• Hands-on experience with Cypress for UI automation (preferred).
• Experience with code-based API automation using Cucumber / BDD or similar tools.
• Postman experience for API validation and incident triage.
• Strong understanding of test design and test case management.
• Experience collaborating with developers in an Agile environment.
• Ability to ramp quickly on a large enterprise platform and proactively identify quality improvements.
• Experience with SQL Server or writing SQL queries for test validation.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines (plus).

Contract & Logistics

• Remote; long-term contract with potential to extend.
• Standard business hours.
