About the role
Role Overview
Quanata is hiring an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to build and improve automated test frameworks for API components and data platforms. You’ll work with a team of experienced SDETs to drive end-to-end quality and quality discussions across the SDLC.
Responsibilities
- Follow Agile practices, participate in Scrum and software quality audits across all phases of the SDLC.
- Create and execute tests for large modules/components; design test coverage for feature areas.
- Analyze business requirements using Project Design Documents and Business Requirement Documents.
- Develop scalable, robust test automation frameworks and scripts using:
- Python
- Pytest
- BDD frameworks
- PyCharm
- Perform integration, regression, and performance testing using industry-standard tools.
- Use TestRail (or equivalent) to manage test suites, automation results, and failure analysis.
- Research and evaluate newer/better automated testing tools.
- Work independently and collaborate across teams to drive quality initiatives; mentor other quality engineers.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience testing Data Platforms, Machine Learning, and APIs.
- Experience integrating testing artifacts with CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Linux, databases/SQL (PostgreSQL), and shell scripting.
- AWS, DevOps, and AI knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and ability to articulate technical topics.
- Desire to automate testing to reduce manual effort/time.
- P&C insurance domain knowledge.
