About the role
Role
Quanata is seeking an accomplished SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to help deliver new-age insurance solutions. You will build and maintain robust automated test frameworks for API components and data platforms, collaborating closely with experienced SDETs to ensure high-quality delivery end to end.
Responsibilities
- Follow Agile/Scrum practices, including participation in scrum meetings and software quality audits across the SDLC.
- Create and execute tests for APIs and large components/modules, designing features or feature areas.
- Perform business requirement analysis by reviewing project and business requirement documentation.
- Develop scalable, robust test automation frameworks and scripts using:
- Python
- Pytest
- BDD frameworks
- PyCharm (as the development environment)
- Execute integration, regression, and performance testing with industry standard tools.
- Maintain and manage test suites and results using TestRail (or equivalent) and analyze test failures.
- Research and evaluate new/alternate automated testing tools.
- Work independently while collaborating cross-team to drive quality initiatives and lead detailed quality discussions.
- Design clear end-to-end test scenarios, even with limited or vague requirements, and mentor other quality engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with data platforms, machine learning, and APIs.
- Experience integrating testing artifacts into CI/CD pipelines.
Nice-to-haves
- P&C insurance domain knowledge.
- Linux, databases/SQL (PostgreSQL), and shell scripting.
- AWS, DevOps, and AI exposure.
- Strong problem-solving and ability to articulate technical topics clearly.
- Strong automation mindset to reduce manual testing time.

- $156,000 – $209,000 (final offer depends on skills and experience).
