About the role

Role: SDET II, tvScientific (Web Platform)

You’ll be responsible for driving quality for tvScientific’s web platform features, with a strong focus on web and API testing. The role balances manual testing excellence with automation to validate end-to-end user flows across UI, backend services, and APIs.

Responsibilities

Own and drive quality for web platform features spanning UI, APIs, and backend services
Design and execute manual test cases and exploratory testing for complex web/API workflows
Perform thorough regression testing after bug fixes
Build and maintain automated test suites for:
- Frontend–backend integration validation, including data consistency and error handling
- API contract testing, schema validation, and negative/edge-case testing
Partner with engineers and stakeholders during design/implementation and code reviews to improve testability and catch issues early
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD for fast, reliable feedback
Analyze test failures, investigate root causes, and drive issues to resolution
Advocate for quality best practices, including shift-left testing, risk-based testing, and automation strategy
Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field or equivalent experience
2+ years in QA / Quality Engineering with strong web platform and API testing focus
Strong hands-on experience with manual testing of complex, consumer-facing web applications
Hands-on API testing experience using tools such as Postman, REST-assured, Supertest, or similar
Hands-on web automation experience with Playwright or Cypress
Solid understanding of HTTP and REST / API design principles
Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language: JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong debugging, analytical, and communication skills; high-trust cross-functional collaboration
