About the role
Role Overview
SDET Engineer (100% Remote, U.S.) You’ll bring strong software engineering practices to test automation, designing, building, and continuously improving automation frameworks. You’ll work closely with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve test automation frameworks and related tooling
- Write production-quality automated test code
- Partner with product, design, engineering, and operations to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
- Apply a broad testing strategy: unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing
- Raise the bar through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of more junior engineers
- Ensure solutions hold up in production through strong engineering discipline
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation framework: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation
- Solid SQL skills for database validation
- Understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures
- Strong debugging, communication, and documentation skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Contract testing tools: Pact or Spring Cloud Contract
- Performance testing: JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
- Security testing tools: OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Snyk
- Exposure to chaos engineering / resilience testing
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
