About the role

Role Overview

SDET Engineer (100% Remote, U.S.) Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced SDET Engineer to strengthen test automation through strong software engineering practices. You will design, build, and continuously improve automation frameworks and embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and continuously improve test automation frameworks
Write production-quality test code
Partner with development teams to integrate quality engineering throughout the SDLC
Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
Raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of junior engineers
Apply testing across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security for modern distributed systems

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
5+ years as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering
Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation framework: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
Experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation
Strong SQL skills and experience with database validation
Understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures
Strong debugging, communication, and documentation skills
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications

Contract testing tools: Pact / Spring Cloud Contract
Performance testing with JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust
Security testing tools: OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Snyk
Familiarity with chaos engineering and resilience testing
ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
