SDE - 3 (Senior Frontend Engineer)

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer to build and scale Certa’s enterprise-grade front-end applications and design system in a remote-first environment.

What You’ll Do

• Build the frontend: Design and develop large-scale, enterprise-grade front-end applications in React and TypeScript.
• Own the design system: Build, scale, and maintain Certa’s design system using semantic, accessible HTML.
• Optimize performance: Improve rendering and delivery performance across front-end applications.
• Raise the engineering bar: Set up/refine frontend tooling (bundling, linting, testing, releasing) and write automated tests.
• Mentor & collaborate: Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and partner with product and design in an Agile team.

What You’ll Need

• Frontend engineering experience:
  • 3+ years building large-scale front-end applications with React
  • 3+ years with TypeScript (type-safe JavaScript)
  • Experience delivering enterprise-grade software quality
• Modern frontend ecosystem:
  • Strong command of bundling (preferably Vite), linting, testing, and releasing
  • Automated testing experience with Vitest, Cypress, Jest, and Testing Library
• Design systems & performance:
  • Experience building/scaling a design system from scratch
  • Writing semantic HTML and improving rendering/delivery performance for responsive, cross-browser apps
• Mentorship & methodology:
  • Track record mentoring mid-level/junior engineers
  • Experience working in Agile software development
• Environment & data:
  • Experience with remote teams and using data/analytics to drive product decisions

• Integrations and data synchronization with event pub/sub models

Location / Work Model

• Remote-first; hires globally, with optional travel to London, San Francisco, or Jaipur offices.
