About the role
Role Overview
Remote Scrum Master for a non-profit academic health system undergoing an Agile transformation. The Scrum Master will support an IT organization that supports Epic modules, with a focus on Digital/Automation delivery and increasing Agile maturity.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies for the Digital/Automation team: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
- Coach the team on Agile best practices and ensure adherence to Scrum methodology.
- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to keep the backlog defined and prioritized.
- Identify and remove impediments to help the team achieve sprint goals.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and innovation.
- Coordinate with the Agile Center of Excellence (COE) and other Scrum Masters to align on transformation goals.
- Mentor and coach team members to improve Agile maturity.
- Use Jira to track and manage project progress, maintaining transparency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master (preferably in digital/product development teams)
- Hospital/health system experience (non-profit academic health system context)
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and experience supporting Agile transformations
- Proficiency with Jira for project management and tracking
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and inspire teams
- Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders
- Automation project experience is highly desirable
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred
Contract / Logistics
- Location: Remote
- Time zone requirement: Must work EST hours
- Duration: 3-month contract to start (may be extended; not guaranteed)
