About the role

Role Overview

Remote Scrum Master for a non-profit academic health system undergoing an Agile transformation. The Scrum Master will support an IT organization that supports Epic modules, with a focus on Digital/Automation delivery and increasing Agile maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies for the Digital/Automation team: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
  • Coach the team on Agile best practices and ensure adherence to Scrum methodology.
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to keep the backlog defined and prioritized.
  • Identify and remove impediments to help the team achieve sprint goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and innovation.
  • Coordinate with the Agile Center of Excellence (COE) and other Scrum Masters to align on transformation goals.
  • Mentor and coach team members to improve Agile maturity.
  • Use Jira to track and manage project progress, maintaining transparency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master (preferably in digital/product development teams)
  • Hospital/health system experience (non-profit academic health system context)
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and experience supporting Agile transformations
  • Proficiency with Jira for project management and tracking
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and inspire teams
  • Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Automation project experience is highly desirable
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred

Contract / Logistics

  • Location: Remote
  • Time zone requirement: Must work EST hours
  • Duration: 3-month contract to start (may be extended; not guaranteed)
