Scrum Master

Role Overview

Scrum Master (Jira) providing delivery execution support for the RaDS IT Research Infrastructure Product Line (RIPL). You will improve Agile operating practices, strengthen Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) usage, and increase visibility across squads, parent boards, and program-level reporting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum and Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives, and cross-team dependency discussions.
• Manage delivery risk and coordination: identify, capture, communicate, and drive resolution/escalation for risks, impediments, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Coordinate integrated delivery across squads to support roadmap commitments and cross-team execution.
• Optimize Atlassian execution artifacts:
  • Configure and improve Jira boards, workflows, issue types, dashboards, filters, and reporting structures.
  • Strengthen Jira automation and enable (semi-)automated reporting that consolidates execution data across teams.
  • Support governance and maintenance of parent boards, program roadmaps, Confluence pages, and decision logs.
• Partner with stakeholders (Product Managers, Product Technical Leads, Business Leads, technical analysts, data engineers, and product line leadership) to build and communicate delivery timelines.
• Maintain stakeholder-facing status materials and ensure project documentation stays current in Confluence.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience managing deployments of IT releases in a pharmaceutical/scientific R&D environment.
• Understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical instrumentation, and data flows (plus).
• Awareness of GxP/regulatory considerations for systems supporting lab data (e.g., controlled access, audit trails, validated processes).
• Experience configuring and optimizing Jira (boards, workflows, issue types, dashboards, filters, automation rules).
• Demonstrated ability to run Agile ceremonies and manage cross-team dependencies.
• Strong communication skills (explain technical configuration to technical and non-technical audiences).
• Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating support/prioritization across a large user base.
• Proficiency with Confluence (or similar) for documentation and collaboration.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of laboratory/instrumentation data flows and lab workflow specifics in pharma R&D.
• Experience strengthening governance for parent boards and decision logs connected to program objectives.
