Scrum Master

Role Overview

Facilitate Agile/Scrum teams delivering IT projects through servant leadership. You will help remove impediments, ensure Scrum ceremonies are effective, and drive continuous improvement and transparency across the Agile lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Coach teams and stakeholders to adopt Agile principles and Scrum values, enabling self-organization and collaboration.
• Partner with Product Owners to clarify priorities and support effective backlog management.
• Identify, remove, and prevent impediments that impact delivery and team performance.
• Maintain alignment with stakeholders through productive internal and external collaboration.
• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and leadership to ensure teams have the right tools/processes/environment.
• Promote continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability across the Agile lifecycle.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years enabling Agile principles and Scrum values for IT project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to coach (not direct) Scrum teams and stakeholders across the Agile lifecycle.
• Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies and team-level delivery practices.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, behavioral science, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience.

Certifications

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I).

Nice-to-Haves / Preferences

• Federal government contracting experience (CMS.gov preferred).

Location / Work Model

• Remote (some hybrid work in the Baltimore–Washington, MD technical corridor).
