Scrum Master Team Lead

Role overview

Scrum Master Team Lead at Quility Insurance, serving as a senior Agile delivery leader across user-journey-aligned product pods. You will lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of Scrum Masters embedded across the portfolio while also facilitating Agile delivery practices within your pods.

Responsibilities

Scrum Master Team Leadership

• Lead, manage, and be accountable for a team of Scrum Masters across multiple product pods (set expectations, coach regularly, ensure consistent delivery practices).
• Run regular 1:1s, performance check-ins, and growth planning; own performance management for Scrum Masters.
• Establish and maintain portfolio-wide standards for Scrum ceremony facilitation, Jira hygiene, capacity reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Act as the escalation point for Scrum Masters when impediments can’t be resolved within their pods (triage, drive resolution, or escalate).
• Provide senior leadership with visibility into team health, delivery risks, and continuous improvement efforts.

Pod-Level Delivery

• Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies with consistency and intentionality (daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement).
• Coach teams and Scrum Masters on Agile and SAFe principles; improve delivery practices and team accountability.
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog items are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for execution.
• Proactively identify and escalate risks and roadblocks before they impact delivery; own resolution.
• Surface pod- and portfolio-level progress, risks, and impediments transparently and regularly.

Planning & Operations

• Participate in PI Planning, including capacity input, dependency identification, and commitment tracking.
• Maintain accurate capacity data; flag resourcing constraints early.
• Create and maintain project plans, sprint-level timelines, and status documentation in Confluence.
• Support Jira hygiene within your pods to ensure tickets reflect actual work in progress.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Manage complex cross-pod and cross-functional dependencies, especially where Core Framework work unblocks other pods.
• Step into an active delivery environment quickly, establishing trust and cadence.
• Drive cross-pod and cross-functional alignment across areas including Finance, Engineering, and Portfolio Operations.

Requirements

• Seasoned Scrum Master with strong project management experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop other Scrum Masters.
• Deep understanding of Scrum and SAFe frameworks.
• Ability to coach high-performing teams and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Operate with autonomy and bring solutions (not just status updates).
• Experience with PI Planning, Agile delivery ceremonies, and maintaining delivery/portfolio visibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working across product pods and handling cross-functional dependencies in an established Agile/SAFe environment.
