About the role
Role Overview
The Scrum Master / Project Manager will support agile delivery of modern IT solutions by coordinating team communications, backlog planning, and program-aligned execution.
Responsibilities
- Translate epics and user stories into actionable tasks by collaborating with the Team Lead and developers; maintain a clear, prioritized backlog aligned to client business objectives.
- Serve as Scrum Master for a cross-functional development team and ensure adherence to Agile best practices.
- Create and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Work with Business Analyst and Product Owner to derive epics and stories from business requirements (e.g., interviews and written process documents).
- Promote transparency, communication, and alignment across technologists, security experts, product managers, and client stakeholders.
- Track team output and sprint metrics, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Remove impediments and blockers to maintain momentum.
- Coach and mentor team members and stakeholders on agile principles and continuous improvement.
- Advise government personnel and delivery partners on process standardization, agile adoption, and digital transformation best practices in a federal environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile delivery role, preferably for large-scale digital transformation or federal government projects.
- Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams in Agile.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remove impediments in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable: experience with Jira, Rally, or GitHub.
Working Conditions
- Standard business hours: Monday–Friday (EST); occasional extended/weekend hours as needed.
- Must have reliable internet for effective telecommuting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $115,000–$130,000 annually (depends on location and experience).
