About the role

Role Overview

Sprezzatura is seeking a Scrum Master for a key program within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to drive agile practices and accelerate delivery of modern IT solutions. The role is remote (in the U.S.) and is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Workstream Managers acting as Product Owners to translate epics and user stories into actionable tasks and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned to client objectives.
Promote transparency, communication, and alignment across cross-functional teams (technologists, security experts, product managers, and client stakeholders).
Track and report team output, achievement, and sprint metrics; provide updates on progress, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Advise government personnel and delivery partners on process standardization, agile adoption, and digital transformation best practices in a federal environment.
Facilitate and guide one or more Scrum teams, ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework across the project lifecycle.
Lead key Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Remove impediments/blockers to maintain momentum and proactively resolve issues.
Coach and mentor team members and stakeholders on agile principles to foster continuous improvement and high performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile delivery role (preferably large-scale digital transformation or federal government projects).
Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams in agile methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remove impediments in complex, fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government Public Trust security clearance (if required).

Nice to Have

Experience with Jira, Rally, or GitHub for project/configuration management.

Working Conditions

Monday–Friday business hours; occasional extended or weekend hours as needed.

Work Authorization

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required). E-Verify participation for authorization verification.
