About the role
Role Overview
Scrum Master / Agile Coach for an Agile team operating in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment. You will act as a servant leader and coach, enabling team execution of Agile practices while also supporting cross-team and program-level alignment (PI planning, ART success).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for a team practicing SAFe Agile
- Facilitate core events: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives
- Act as a servant leader: remove impediments and support the team’s progress
- Support cross-team coordination and dependencies across teams
- Help integrate the team’s work into Program Increment (PI) planning
- Contribute to the success of the Agile Release Train (ART) in SAFe
- Coach teams to live Agile values and principles and apply best practices
- Work with a cohort of Agile Coaches to develop fit-for-purpose models and support new/existing agile teams
Additional Duties / Coaching & Enablement
- Ensure the team identifies vision, goals, scope, KPIs, and product domains
- Train teams to enable enterprise-wide adoption of the business agility framework
- Educate stakeholders and roles on Agile principles; deliver training sessions
- Provide feedback and coach teams to advance maturity
- Develop and deliver training on Agile-Lean practices
- Co-develop continuous process improvement initiatives with Agile coach/trainer communities of practice
- Provide tools to reduce waste and drive improvement
Requirements
- SAFe Agile experience (required)
- SAFe Scrum Master experience (required)
- SAFe Scrum Master Certification OR CSM is required (SAFe preference)
- Strong business acumen and advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
- Lean-Agile methodologies/practices/tools (example tools: Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Demonstrated ability to apply Agile at scale and lead cultural/organizational change (e.g., SAFe or LeSS)
- Experience with two or more Agile/Lean frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Extreme Programming)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required
- 3-5 years as an active Agile Coach
- 8 years experience on an Agile team
- Track record supporting agile teams in the Healthcare industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships and influence outcomes
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps (preferred)
