About the role
Role Overview
Scrum Master (Remote) for a 12-month contract with NAVA Software solutions. You will lead agile execution in a SAFe context, support sprint/PI goal delivery, and use Azure DevOps (ADO) and analytics to drive transparency and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Lean-Agile leader and help the team adopt SAFe values, principles, and practices.
- Coach and support the team in Scrum execution: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Refinement, Retrospective, and Sprint Review.
- Remove impediments, eliminate blockers, and help maintain relentless improvement (quality, predictability, flow, velocity).
- Ensure effective sprint commitment and help achieve sprint and PI goals using capacity effectively.
- Facilitate backlog grooming and estimation using Story Points.
- Work with Product Owner and requirement owners to clarify scope and build a healthy backlog.
- Track and manage delivery using Azure DevOps (ADO):
- Maintain team boards and updates in ADO
- Review ADO metrics and support improvements
- Track PI/sprint status, dependencies, and risk logs
- Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) and coordinate with other delivery teams.
- Capture, analyze, and use metrics to support team improvement.
Requirements
- Significant agile project management experience; strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization.
- Strong working experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
- At least one certification: CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe SSM, SAFe RTE, or SPC.
- Hands-on experience with agile tools, especially Azure DevOps (ADO) (and ideally Jira and/or VersionOne).
- Extensive experience leading, guiding, and coaching agile/SAFe teams and facilitating agile ceremonies.
- Strong knowledge of SAFe (principles, value, and practices) applied in real projects.
- Basic understanding of Data Engineering and how it adds value.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to learn continuously.
- Experience with CI/CD.
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work across diverse backgrounds.
Desired / Additional
- 10+ years of agile project management experience.
- 5+ years working as Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
- Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on data engineering experience as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Tester.
