Scrum Master (Remote)

Contract Details

Act as a Lean-Agile leader: promote SAFe mindset, values, principles, and practices.
Support Scrum execution: eliminate impediments, help the team focus on relentless improvement and efficiency.
Understand data engineering basics and the data product development context; tailor team process/artifacts accordingly.
Ensure the team uses capacity to commit to sprint goals and achieve PI goals.
Help ensure goals, scope, and backlog items are understood and fulfilled by team members.
Facilitate planning and delivery activities; train the team in planning/delivery.
Collaborate with Product Owner and requirement owners to clarify business/system requirements and maintain a healthy backlog.
Improve cross-team communication and relationships; represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS).
Improve delivery outcomes: quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Standup
- Refinement
- Retrospective
- Sprint Review
Facilitate backlog grooming and estimation using Story Points.
Track and manage work and execution in Azure DevOps (ADO), including regular board review and proper team updates.
Coach teams in scaled agile practices and help teams use ADO effectively.
Capture and analyze metrics; support continuous improvement.
Track PI/sprint status, dependencies, and risks using ADO.

Significant Agile project management experience plus strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization.
Hands-on experience with data engineering (Data Analyst/Data Engineer/Tester backgrounds).
Expert in ADO (Azure DevOps), including customized reporting using ADO and Power BI.
In-depth experience in Banking/Finance.
Significant working experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
At least one certification: CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe SSM, SAFe RTE, or SPC.
Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as ADO and Jira (and/or VersionOne).
Extensive experience leading/coaching agile or SAFe teams; strong facilitation of team meetings.
Strong knowledge of the SAFe framework (principles, value, and practices).
Basic understanding of Data Engineering and how it creates organizational value.
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; adaptability and continuous learning.
Experience with CI/CD.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

At least 10 years of agile project management experience.
At least 5 years as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Continued emphasis on data engineering experience and Agile tool proficiency (ADO/Jira) in a SAFe environment.
