Scrum Master - Remote

Role Overview

Scrum Master (Remote) for a 12-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Lean-Agile leader and help the team adopt and apply SAFe mindset, principles, and practices.
• Support Scrum by:
  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily stand-up, Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review.
  • Eliminating impediments/blockers and supporting relentless improvement.
• Ensure execution against commitments:
  • Help the team commit to sprint goals using capacity effectively.
  • Support meeting sprint and overall PI goals.
• Own and drive backlog health:
  • Ensure goals, scope, and product backlog items are understood and achievable.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming/estimation using story points.
• Lead and coordinate delivery planning:
  • Train the team in planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and requirement owners to clarify scope and build a healthy backlog.
• Coordinate with other teams/programs:
  • Improve communications and relationships across delivery teams.
  • Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) and support engagement awareness and program effectiveness.
• Use delivery tools and data:
  • Track work and sprint/PI progress using Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Regularly review the team board and ensure ADO updates.
  • Track dependency and risk logs in ADO.
  • Capture and analyze metrics to drive improvement.
• Coaching and continuous improvement:
  • Coach teams in scaled agile practices and enable effective use of ADO.
  • Improve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity; challenge outdated norms.

Requirements

• Significant agile project management experience and strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization.
• Hands-on data engineering experience (as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Tester).
• Expert in ADO (Azure DevOps), including customized reports using ADO and Power BI.
• In-depth experience in Banking/Finance.
• Significant working experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
• At least one certification: CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe SSM, SAFe RTE, or SPC.
• Hands-on experience with agile tools such as ADO and Jira (and/or VersionOne).
• Strong knowledge of the SAFe framework (principles, values, and practices).
• Basic understanding of Data Engineering and its organizational value.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills; adaptability and continuous learning.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Desired Qualifications

• At least 10 years of agile project management experience.
• At least 5 years as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
• Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
