Role Overview

Scrum Master (Remote)

• Duration: 6+ months contract
• Location: Remote (United States)
• W2 required

Responsibilities

• Coach Agile values and practices, driving continuous improvement.
• Facilitate iteration-based meetings and ensure cadence and desired outcomes.
• Track and ensure visibility of historical team metrics, iteration progress, and release progress.
• Emphasize incremental releases and iteration work prioritized by value and risk.
• Support internal/external communications by sharing information transparently.
• Partner with project leads to ensure delivery meets established standards and practices.
• Collaborate with leads to address issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Instill urgency for iteration goals, upcoming releases, and project vision.
• Optimize and sustain throughput; prioritize work by value and risk.
• Remove blockers, limit work in progress (WIP), and prevent distractions.
• Facilitate frequent retrospectives and use metrics to drive improvements.
• Identify and create opportunities to expedite feedback during the iteration.
• Help develop and maintain team standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• Scrum Master experience with certification a plus.
• BA/BS and IT experience.
• IT project management experience.
• Experience overseeing project teams with at least 10 team members.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and strong time management.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to identify priorities and mobilize initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to propose creative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to support story selection, sizing, and tasking to help teams make commitments.

Preferred

• Experience with distributed development teams across multiple geographies/time zones/cultures.
• Experience in a Web/Java/XML/RDBMS development environment.
