Scrum Master :: Remote :: 6+ Months Contract

Role Overview

Scrum Master (Remote) for a 6+ months contract.

Responsibilities

• Coach teams on Agile values and practices, emphasizing continuous improvement.
• Enable teams to share learning across the organization.
• Encourage collaboration and seek opportunities to improve cross-team collaboration.
• Track and ensure visibility into iteration/release metrics and progress.
• Promote incremental releases and iterative work prioritized by value and risk.
• Support transparent internal/external communication and partner with project leads to meet standards and practices.
• Collaborate to address issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Drive urgency for iteration and release goals while maintaining a calm, effective approach under pressure.
• Optimize and sustain throughput, ensuring work is prioritized by value and risk.
• Facilitate effective iteration-based meetings and maintain cadence.
• Help the team make commitments via story selection, sizing, and tasking.
• Remove blockers, reduce WIP, and prevent distractions.
• Facilitate frequent retrospectives and use metrics to implement improvements.
• Identify and create opportunities to expedite feedback during the iteration.
• Participate in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS.
• IT experience with IT Project Management experience.
• Scrum Master experience and certification is a plus.
• Experience overseeing project teams of 10+ members.
• Strong written/verbal communication and time management skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, able to identify priorities and mobilize initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to propose creative solutions for complex, time-critical challenges.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage perception.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed development teams across multiple geographies/time zones/cultures.
• Direct experience in a Web / Java / XML / RDBMS development environment.
