Role Overview

Scrum Master (remote) for a 6+ months contract.

Location & Duration

• Location: Remote (United States)
• Duration: 6+ months
• Employment: Only W2 (as stated)

Responsibilities

• Coach teams on Agile values and practices, emphasizing continuous improvement
• Enable learning sharing across teams and encourage collaboration
• Track and ensure visibility of team metrics, iteration progress, and release status
• Promote incremental releases and iterative work, prioritizing by value and risk
• Support internal/external communications through transparent information sharing
• Partner with project leads to ensure solutions meet standards and established practices
• Collaborate to address issues, risks, and mitigation plans
• Drive urgency toward iteration/release goals and the project vision
• Optimize throughput by prioritizing work by value and risk
• Facilitate iteration-based meetings and maintain their cadence
• Help teams commit appropriately via story selection, sizing, and tasking
• Identify and remove blockers, reduce work-in-progress, and prevent distractions
• Facilitate frequent retrospectives and implement improvements using metrics
• Identify and create opportunities to expedite feedback during the iteration
• Participate in maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices

Requirements

• BA/BS
• IT experience with IT Project Management experience
• Scrum Master experience and certification (a plus)
• Experience overseeing project teams with 10+ team members
• Exceptional written/verbal communication and time management
• Self-motivated, organized, self-confident, able to set priorities and mobilize initiatives with minimal supervision
• Ability to propose creative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges
• Excellent situational awareness; remain calm under pressure

Preferred

• Experience with distributed development teams across geographies/time zones/cultures
• Experience in a Web / Java / XML / RDBMS development environment
