Scrum Master (Remote) Contract duration: 6+ months Work authorization: Only W2 required

Responsibilities

• Coach teams on Agile values and practices, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Enable teams to share learnings across the organization and improve collaboration.
• Maintain visibility into historical team metrics, iteration progress, and release progress.
• Emphasize incremental releases and iterative work, prioritizing by value and risk.
• Support internal/external communication by transparently sharing information.
• Partner with project leads to ensure delivery meets established standards and practices.
• Collaborate with project leads to aggressively address issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Instill urgency tied to iteration goals, upcoming releases, and project vision.
• Optimize and sustain throughput, ensuring work is prioritized by value and risk.
• Facilitate iteration-based ceremonies/meetings and maintain cadence.
• Help teams make commitments via story selection, sizing, and tasking.
• Remove blockers, reduce WIP (work in progress), and prevent distractions.
• Facilitate frequent retrospectives and use metrics to implement improvements.
• Identify and create opportunities to expedite feedback during iterations.
• Participate in developing/maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• IT experience with IT Project Management experience.
• Scrum Master experience; Scrum certification is a plus.
• Experience overseeing project teams of at least 10 members.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and strong time management.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to identify priorities and mobilize initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to propose creative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Preferred

• Experience with distributed development teams across multiple geographies, time zones, and cultures.
• Direct experience in a Web, Java, XML, RDBMS development environment.
