Scrum Master :: Remote :: 6+ Months Contract

Role Overview

Scrum Master for a remote position with 6+ months contract duration.

Responsibilities

• Coach teams on Agile values and practices, emphasizing continuous improvement.
• Enable teams to share learnings and strengthen collaboration across the organization.
• Maintain visibility into iteration/release metrics and progress.
• Support incremental releases, iterative work, and prioritization by value and risk.
• Partner with project leads to ensure solutions meet standards, procedures, and practices.
• Collaborate to address issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Drive urgency aligned to iteration goals, release goals, and the project vision.
• Optimize and sustain throughput, prioritizing work by value and risk.
• Facilitate effective iteration-based ceremonies/meetings and maintain cadence.
• Help teams make commitments via story selection, sizing, and tasking.
• Identify and remove blockers, reduce work-in-progress (WIP), and prevent distractions.
• Facilitate retrospectives and use metrics to drive improvements.
• Identify, create, and defend opportunities to expedite feedback.
• Participate in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS.
• IT experience with IT project management experience.
• Scrum Master experience (and ScrumMaster certification is a plus).
• Experience overseeing project teams with at least 10 team members.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and time management.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to identify priorities and mobilize initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to propose creative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges.
• Strong situational awareness; remain calm under pressure and be mindful of how actions are perceived.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed development teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Direct experience in a Web/Java/XML/RDBMS development environment.
