Scrum Master

Role Overview

Scrum Master to lead and improve Agile delivery for insurance-related work in Columbus, OH (Remote). This is a 12+ months contract role with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximize business value and optimize team flow by guiding Agile teams to meet goals
• Ensure effective coordination within and across teams and provide delivery transparency to key stakeholders
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement; identify and address risks and promote collaboration and trust
• Support adoption and improvement of Agile methodologies; coach the organization on Agile capabilities
• Plan and collaborate using Azure DevOps (ADO)
• Develop and socialize delivery data/metrics from ADO to improve delivery success
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies:
  • Daily Scrum
  • Backlog refinement
  • Sprint planning
  • Sprint reviews

Requirements

• 5+ years as an Agile Delivery Owner, Scrum Master, Project Manager, or equivalent leadership role for development teams using Scrum/Kanban (or)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT/Business-related discipline plus 2+ years in a similar Agile leadership role
• Certified ScrumMaster and/or Professional Scrum Master I required
• Strong communication, people leadership, and collaboration skills with IT and business stakeholders
• Experience reviewing staffing plans and proactively addressing staffing needs with IT/resource managers
• Ability to mitigate issues quickly and escalate larger issues to program leadership
• Experience supporting Agile maturity and team coaching
• Ability to lead prioritization of new requirements and drive resolution of defects during testing
• Comfortable pushing back on requests that don’t align with team goals

Nice-to-Haves / Technology Exposure

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, AgilePlace, and GitHub
• Familiarity with Commercial Lines insurance / policies
